Yesterday, while leading a warm-up in the studio with Karen Jamieson, it occurred to me that perhaps language is a construction of time and space out of the landscape of desire and obstacles in the mouth and throat.
I am a dancer, choreographer, dramaturge and voice teacher. I speak 6 languages badly.
When my son was 6, he said
"My mom makes the best crème brulée.
She smells really nice.
She has a good sense of what to wear.
She likes to go to the beach with me.
She makes me feel safe when she's around me.
She's the best mom ever."
He is now 18 and makes better creme brulee than me.
I wish I was funny.
